28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is the sequel to 28 Years Later, directed by David Boyle, as part of his continuation of the iconic zombie movie franchise, 28 Days Later. After part 1 was released in the Summer of 2025, as a kick-off to 2026, the movie does not disappoint.
The 28 Years Later Sequel
The movie continues from where we left off with the main character, a boy named Spike, being rescued from zombies, i.e., the infected, by a group of fighting blonde warriors. However, the tale takes an interesting turn for the worse when Spike is in an abandoned building in an arena setting to fight for his life against one of the blonde fighters, where the winner joins (or remains) in the leader’s group, who goes by the name Jimmy.
What to Expect
This movie has several storylines, and the main two are Spike’s and Dr. Ian’s story. Dr. Ian is left at his sanctuary made of human bones, where he drugs and makes conversation with one of the infected. This infected has been given the codename of The Alpha. As these two storylines unfold, they eventually meet in the middle, where a conflict of interest causes a group implosion, which fits very nicely in the world of the story.
Even if you never saw part 1, the second part of 28 Years Later brings a fresh approach to the concept of a zombie apocalypse, with twists and turns that will keep you on edge.
